New Fire Engine Coming to Bonny Doon in Early 2010 ?

On Tuesday December 15, 2009 the Board of Supervisors will consider a report from the County General Services Department that recommends that a new fire engine be purchased and located at the McDermott Volunteer Station located at Empire Grade and Ice Cream Grade.

Currently, Engine 3221 a 1987 International FTH-1000, located at McDermott station, is the oldest front-line engine in the county fire fleet, and well past the 20 year benchmark for retirement.

Friends of Bonny Doon Fire is pleased that the County Fire Fund is sufficiently sound, and that this necessary replacement can be considered during these fiscally trying times.

County Fire 2009/10 Contract up for approval

On December 15, 2009 the Board of Supervisors will consider adopting a resolution certifying the Board's approval of agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection; approve contract and operational agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for fire protection services in County Service Areas 4 and 48 for fiscal year 2009/2010 in the amount of $3,291,571; and take related actions, as recommended by the Director of General Services.
