2010 Fire Funding Report links to the January 26, 2010 staff proposal to conduct a survey and return to the Board of Supervisors on April 13 to consider again asking the voters to approve a fire tax or fee increase.

NEW April 3rd !  2010 Fire Funding Survey the survey authorized by the Board of Supervisors on January 26, to determine public support (or lack of support) for a fee increase to fund County Fire.

The Fire Funding Report describes 6 options for the future of County Fire. As was the case in 2007 when a fee increase was sought (and untimately rejected by the voters) the options include the closing of some UNNAMED fire stations in the off season.

Friends believes that the decisions about the level of Fire Service should NOT be based on reports, fears and rumors about unnamed Fire Stations being closed. We all deserve better from our decisionmakers.

An update will be posted describing the outcome of the April 13 Board of Supervisors meeting.
